Located in a dangerous and ugly neighborhood, everything was dirty, the toilet even didn't have lock

Staying in hostel Torre was a horrible experience. First 3 days hostel was without wi-fi, next 3 days with broken bathrooms and toilets. When my friend came there, he even could not take a shower after his journey. I literally escaped from this place and don’t recommend it to anyone. Only 2 showers for 3 floors of the building!!! Dirty toilets. No cleaning!!! - only volunteers working in a hostel and the owner, Neuza, treats them like slaves. Bad location - VERY dangerous street, you can ask any local about it. It’s really better to choose a place close to Pelourinho. No wi-fi access to the rooms. Everything is old and dirty. AVOID THIS PLACE, it’s not so nice as on a web-site. And well, some photos, just to confirm my comment.
Nothing! 100% terrible place

You can’t feel better!
Maybe they should improve the showers but nothing serious.
The owner is super. She’s helpful, answers to all your questions and explains you everything about Salvador. She’s lovely. For the price you pay you have breakfast included. The location is in the center, 10 minutes walking from the historical city and to get to Barra there are buses stopping just close to the hostel. The dorms are clean.

I felt at home in Bahia
The facility are quite old but this is part of the fascinating of the real Bahia
I felt at home in this fascinating hostel that represent very well the Pelourinho,an old house in the perfect location 5 minutes walking to the heart of the old city, more the owner Neuza is the perfect host even if she doesn’t speak a word of English she is fantastic and funny and lovely and easy to communicate with her, I had a big room , lot of space, good breakfast, nice open air space, lots of buses to go around Barra and Rio Vermelhio, I coulden’t find a more safe and comfortable place to stai in Bahia.

Water was a problem. We could only shower in 1 bathroom for a couple of days.
Very friendly people working. Very cozy. The location is great , very close to Pelourinho area and if you want beach an omnibus can take you for like 20-30 mins.

The owner is simply fantastic: very helpful, kind and funny! The house is nice and you feel at home. The place is perfect to visit the city (near Pelourinho and with lots of busses to go around).

A disappointing hostel spoiling an otherwise amazing Carnaval!
Nearly everything else. The electricity was faulty (sockets hanging out of the wall), breakfast was practically non-existant (just bread and coffee), internet was poor but worst of all was the owner. Where do I start? Tried to overcharge me for my stay (and other guests). She told me I was dreaming when I calculated how much I owed for the stay; gave me a lecture about prices and politeness before making her own calculations and realising I was correct. She was very "communicative", and picked arguments with several guests and her volunteers. Threatened me with legal action just because I made a small complaint about the state of the hostel and how it was not as advertised, and told me if I was to change hostel, how the others were ridden with crime and were exorbitantly expensive - which I managed to mythbust as I had several friends staying at the particular hostel she named, all of whom alive, well and still with all their belongs (contrary to what she claimed). I brought several friends to the hostel as we prepared to go out to the street parties and the first time she did not say anything when my friend arrived, but the second time barred them entry, giving me another lecture about security. On my part as a guest, I admit I was in the wrong by not asking her prior, but equally, this was the only hostel on my travels that did not supply a set of rules on arrival, and so I was not aware of what was allowed and not allowed (as the visit of friends was allowed in other hostels). Finally, on my last day I lent a baseball cap to another guest who did not return it to me. When I asked her to talk to the other guest (as I was leaving the hostel), she just laughed at how "stupid" I was instead of trying help me. Being a student I am not very fussy about what I get in a hostel, just that it's cheap and habitable.
Not much, but the volunteers that worked there and also the other guests were amazing - friendly and helpful. I made some good friends there. The location was also great for getting around Salvador.

I was there one month ago. First of all the Location is great, the prize was the best for Salvador and the owner is a very lovely woman. The dorm was quite big, so that you have a lot of space although you share it with a lot of People. The breakfast was really good and more than I expected. The best aspect was the atmosphere. They make you feel comfortable like you know this place and the People of the hostel for a Long time Jet. Would definetely book again Dilan :))
